Barack Obama Speech for the Muslim World at Cairo

Barack Hussein Obama, the President of United States give speech as his first step on closing the loop between the West and the Muslims. He talked about how the September 11 incident change the perception of American towards Islam where they sees us as terrorist. He talked about why this perception should be changed because Islam and America shares the common virtue or principles such as justice, tolerance and dignity of all human beings.  He did mentioned our civilization now are in
debt with Islam in the area of education, knowledge, science and innovation that we Muslims discovers. He furthermore admits, Islam promotes religious tolerance and racial equality. He also swear as a president of United States "to fight against negative stereotypes on Islam where they appear" and aspect Muslims to the same. Some of the issues pointed out by Mr Obama on Islam as part of America is:

1. 7 million Muslims in America have a more average income compared to American as a whole
2. Over 1200 mosque were built through out America
3. The American Government is protecting the right of Muslim women to wear the hijab

Barack Obama also outlines the issues that American and Muslims world have to confront:

1. Violent and extremism. American is not and will not be at war with Muslims. BUT, American will defend their citizen from any country which become a threat to their nation
• Prison of Guantanamo Bay will be closed by early next year
  
2. Admit the situation for Palestinian people is intolerable, and will not turn their back on Palestinian rights
• Suggesting Israelis and Palestinians live in two different states.
• Hamas has to recognize the existence of Israeli States and at the same time Israel has to do the same (recognize the existence of Palestinian State.
  
• America does not accept the legitimacy of continuance to Israelis settlement (where it clearly violates previous agreements). This settlement has to stop
  
3. Nuclear weapon, No nation should hold nuclear weapon including America
   
4. Democracy,  no intervention of other country to another country system of government such as in Iraq
   
5. Religious freedom. The problem between Sunni and Syiah has to stop as it leads to tragic particularly in Iraq.
• Fulfillment of Zakat among American Muslim
6. Women rights and education among women. 
• Reject the views of women who choose to wear hijab is some how less equal
• Help Muslim women through micro financing in helping them live their dream
7. Economic development and opportunity. Scarifying traditions over economic development, 
• Theres need not be contradiction between traditions and economic development
• Internship and scholarships for Muslim students in America
• To fund technology based research in Muslim majority country

Well, we can see a beautiful suggestion and hope from the President Obama. This might be the best opportunity for the Muslim world right now to bridge the gap between the West and Muslim World. But at the same time, I think we still have to be careful as we are not being tortured by the American Government for one or two years, the mistrust between us Muslim and them (the West) cannot be solve on one night.  But we can accept the American Government's offer IF they follow what they have promised.
